Recycling Tours are back and better in our brand-new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF)!
Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at what happens to your recyclables after they leave the kerb. You’ll see how your yellow-lid bin helps reduce landfill, recover valuable materials, and protect the environment.
Our upgraded facility now features a custom-built Education Room designed to make learning about recycling both engaging and informative.
During your session, you’ll:
- Explore the creative new Education Room with direct views of the recycling process
- Join Talk Trash with Ash, our Waste Education Officer, for a fun and interactive discussion about recycling and waste management
- Learn what can and can’t go in your yellow-lid bin and get your recycling questions answered
- Enjoy a complimentary morning or afternoon tea
Tour details:
- Held monthly on the second Thursday
- Two sessions available: 10am - 11:30am and 1pm - 2:30pm.
- All ages welcome!
- Lift access available for all tour areas.
What you need to know on the day:
- Closed-in shoes are required.
- Meet at the Recycling Education Room, located at the Maryborough Waste Facility, 269 Ariadne Street, Maryborough. Drive carefully and follow the signs to the large blue building at the rear of the site. Parking is available near the Education Room. If you need assistance, the weighbridge staff can help direct you.
