The Fraser Coast Regional Council will invest almost $16,000 in community festive season celebrations through its grants programs.

Council has approved the recipients of the Community Festive Events Program and the Community Small Township Festive Decorations Program.

“The grants help community organisations buy equipment to upgrade their facilities and stage events,” Cr James Hansen said.

“The events give us opportunities to celebrate, especially in a year that has been affected by COVID-19.

“In many cases, the grants help groups to stage events which bring people here, which in turn will help our economy rebound.”
