Road rehabilitation works - Main Street between Urraween Road and Richard Charles Drive
9 November to 10 December (weather permitting)

Road rehabilitation works are planned to commence in Main Street between Urraween Road and Richard Charles Drive on 9 November. Weather permitting, works are planned to be completed by 10 December.

Due to significant day time traffic volumes on Main Street, the pavement rehabilitation works will be undertaken at night to enable the works to be undertaken safely, efficiently and to reduce the impact on motorists. The night works will generally be undertaken between 6pm and 5am from Sunday to Thursday, with Main Street being fully reopened to traffic from 6am each day.

To enable the completion of these works in a safe working environment, details of lane closures that will be put in place are provided below:

• Week one (9 November to 13 November) will consist of five stages on the western side of Main Street. During the completion of these works, the western lane of Main Street between Urraween Road and Richard Charles Drive will be closed, with traffic travelling in the eastern lane.
• Week two (16 November to 20 November) will consist of five stages on the eastern side. During the completion of these works, the eastern lane of Main Street between Urraween Road and Richard Charles Drive will be closed, with traffic travelling in the western lane.
• Week three (23 November to 27 November) will be when the Contractor undertakes the wearing course on the eastern and western sides. Half the week will have one side closed and vice versa for the other portion of the week.
• Once the wearing course is installed the asphalt needs to sit for a minimum of 7 days before line marking and traffic loops can be installed. These activities will be completed as night works over one or two shifts.

Road reconstruction works - Martin Street between Tooth Street and Long Street
9 September to 23 December 2025

Council has commenced a project to undertake road reconstruction works in Martin Street between Tooth Street and Long Street.

To enable the completion of these works in a safe working environment, Martin Street between Tooth Street and Long Street will be closed during the period 9 September to 23 December 2025, local traffic only permitted.

Council apologises for the inconveniences caused relating to this temporary road closure and thanks you in anticipation of your understanding and cooperation during the course of this work.

Astro Drive, Urangan - Temporary road and footpath closure from 1 July 2024

Astro Drive Urangan, will be temporarily closed from the intersection of John Duigan Drive to End. This will be closed to vehicular traffic until future development within the site occurs.

Esplanade, Hervey Bay (vicinity of Pialba Caravan Park) - crossover construction and stormwater connection
1 to 3 December 2025 (weather permitting)

Council’s Contractor will be undertaking crossover construction and stormwater connection works along a section of the Esplanade in front of the Pialba Caravan Park on 1-3 December 2025 between the hours of 9am and 2pm each day, weather permitting.

To enable the completion of these works, a temporary lane closure will be implemented in this location with a one lane/two-way traffic arrangement under traffic control being put into place whilst the works are being completed.

Iindah Road (Koala Crescent to Teddington Road), Tinana - culvert replacement works
27 October 2025 to 9 January 2026

Council’s Contractor will be replacing existing culverts located on Iindah Road in the vicinity of 102 Iindah Road, Maryborough between the period 27 October to 9 January 2026.

To allow for the completion of these works, Iindah Road between Koala Crescent and Teddington Road will be closed with a detour put in place during this road closure period.

North Aramara Bridge maintenance work - North Aramara Road, North Aramara
5-9 December 2025, weather permitting.

Maintenance work on the North Aramara Bridge located on North Aramara Road, North Aramara is planned to be undertaken on 5-9 December 2025, weather permitting.

• Friday 5 Dec - Traffic management set-up and material delivery.
• Saturday 6 Dec -  Work under traffic lights as a “hold and release” traffic arrangement, with the bridge open to traffic at the end of shift under a “Giveway Traffic Guidance Scheme”.
• Sunday 7 Dec - Full Closure between 6am and 6pm with the bridge being open at the end of shift under a “Giveway Traffic Guidance Scheme”.
• Monday 8 Dec - Full Closure between 8.30am and 3pm (Bridge will be open in the morning and afternoon to allow for school bus access).
• Tuesday 9 Dec - Full Closure between 8.30am and 3pm (Bridge will be open in the morning and afternoon to allow for school bus access).

The following detour arrangements will be put in place during the bridge closure:

• Traffic North of the Bridge will be Detoured down Musket Flat Rd (unsealed Rd) which turns into Old Gayndah Rd (unsealed road) then onto Maryborough - Biggenden Rd.
• Traffic South of the Bridge will be Detoured down North Aramara Rd onto Maryborough-Biggenden Rd and onto Old Gayndah Rd.
