Road Reconstruction Works from 2 March 2026
Traffic arrangements from 13 April to approximately August 2026
- Denmans Camp Road will continue to operate under a one-lane, one-way southbound traffic flow. The northbound lane closure will now extend from the Boat Harbour Drive intersection through to the Torquay Road intersection.
- Totness Street will be reopened to traffic on both sides of Denmans Camp Road. However, motorists accessing Denmans Camp Road from Totness Street will be required to follow the designated detour routes.
- Bus Stop 840042 will continue to operate as normal.
- Temporary road closures will be implemented at Holiday Parade, Parkway Drive, and Gordon Street (NOTE: staged openings of these roads will occur as the road reconstruction works in this location progress). Detour signage will be in place to safely guide motorists around these closures.
Astro Drive, Urangan from 1 July 2024
Astro Drive, Urangan - Temporary road and footpath closure from 1 July 2024
Astro Drive Urangan, will be temporarily closed from the intersection of John Duigan Drive to End. This will be closed to vehicular traffic until future development within the site occurs.
Maryborough
Walker Street - 17 March 2026 to June 2027 (weather permitting)
Walker Street, Maryborough (between Yaralla Street and Pallas Street) - Road Reconstruction Works
17 March 2026 to June 2027 (weather permitting)
Road reconstruction works will take place on Walker Street between Yaralla Street and Pallas Street. Works are scheduled to start on 17 March 2026 and are expected to be completed by June 2027, weather permitting.
Traffic changes during works:
- Walker Street will remain open at all times with a single-lane, one-way arrangement, with vehicles travelling in a westerly direction.
- Detours will be in place for intersecting roads with Walker Street.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained, with safe pathways provided past the work areas.
Townships
William Street, Howard - Mid March to End of April 2026
William Street, Howard - Road widening, kerb and channel and footpath construction works
Mid March to end of April (weather and delivery conditions permitting)
To allow for the completion of road widening, kerb and channel and footpath construction works on the eastern side of William Street, Howard (end of path construction to Annie Street) the following changed traffic conditions will be implemented.
Half road closures may also be required for short periods of time at other times as part of the delivery of this project.
Burrum River Bridge - 20 April to 15 May 2026
Burrum River Bridge repair works
20 April to 15 May 2026 (weather permitting)
Repair works will take place on the Burrum River Bridge from 20 April to 15 May 2026.
The works include repairing cracks in the bridge piers and fixing other parts of the bridge, including the kerb, bridge rails and abutments.
To complete these repairs safely, the bridge will need to close fully during work hours.
During closures, traffic will be detoured via the Bruce Highway.
Bridge access during the works
To reduce disruption, the bridge will reopen outside work hours between 20 April and 15 May 2026:
- Weekdays: Open to vehicles and pedestrians overnight from 5.30pm to 6.30am.
- Weekends: Open to vehicles and pedestrians all day Saturday and Sunday.
Sandpiper Street, River Heads - 13-24 April
Road pavement maintenance
Sandpiper Street, River Heads (between Curlew Terrace and Turnstone Boulevard) - 13-24 April
Council will undertake road pavement maintenance works in Sandpiper Street between Curlew Terrace and Turnstone Boulevard on 13-24 April 2026, between the hours of 6.30am and 4.30pm, weather permitting.
To ensure a safe working environment, Sandpiper Street between Curlew Terrace and Turnstone Boulevard will be fully closed whilst the works are completed.
