Halcro Street Community Garden
A vibrant, sustainable space for Fraser Coast residents to grow produce, learn new skills, share knowledge, make friends, and enjoy the beauty of gardening.
- Accessible footpaths designed to accommodate everyone, including those in wheelchairs.
- Discover tips and tricks for sustainable gardening and share your passion with others.
- Choose between private lots for hire to grow your produce or join the community in collective gardening efforts.
- Volunteers welcome to help maintain the garden.
This revitalsed garden is more than a place to grow plants – it’s where Fraser Coast residents grow connections, learn, and give back to the community.

- Indoor Bowl Fun - Mondays from 1-3pm
- Chatty Crafters - Tuesdays from 9-11.30am
- Hervey Bay Inspirations Community Singing Group (Tavistock Court Torquay) - Tuesdays from 10am-noon
- Drop in Games - Tuesdays from 1-3pm and Fridays from 9am-noon
- Dementia Friendly Community Singing Program - Tuesdays from 1-3pm at the Madcota Community Hub, Alice Street Maryborough
- Seated Exercise - Wednesdays from 9.30-11.30am
- Stamp Club - Third Wednesday of the month from 1-3pm
- Cochlear and Hearing Support Group - First Wednesday of the month from 1-3pm
- Hit and Giggle Table Tennis - Second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 1-3pm
- Forget Me Not Community Singers (Simple Solutions Torquay Road) - Wednesdays from 1-3pm
- Coffee and Chat Group - Thursdays from 10am-noon

The exhibition seeks interested parties to be a part of this annual project where photographs are taken of participants hands who are living with dementia (individual, carer or both).
A story board is added of the individual’s life and achievements rather than focusing on their illness.
The exhibition is used as a talking point to increase awareness about dementia and the services available.
