Fraser Coast Libraries holds a number of local history collections including images, printed material, maps and plans, manuscripts and archives, newspapers, vertical file, audio-visual, microforms, and computerised records.

Local history images can be accessed from your home device 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Historypin is a digital archive of historical and personal photos, documents and audio-visual recollections. Council in partnership with the Maryborough Wide Bay and Burnett Historical Society has a curated collection.
Playlists
Channel 7 extracts from the archives Playlist
Historic TV footage of the Fraser Coast between 1965 and 1975 has been digitised and saved to a YouTube playlist so it can be accessed by everyone. An innovation grant from the Library Board of Queensland made it possible to digitise extracts from the archives of Wide Bay’s first television broadcaster, Channel 7. The Seven Network retains copyright of the footage.
Local history talks and interviews have been recorded to capture the past of the Fraser Coast from the perspective of historians, locals and history enthusiasts.
The libraries' local history project, Having a Voice, recorded oral histories of people who traditionally did not have a voice including women and indigenous people. It was part of the Heritage Festival in 2018.
