Memberships

An eCard is a digital membership for those wishing to only access Online Library collections and/or computers and printing.

A full membership for those wishing to access all resources, including physical items, is available to Fraser Coast permanent residents and a visitor membership is available to people who do not live in the region.

You can either join online or in person at any library branch.

Proof of Fraser Coast residency is required such as :

  • a driver's licence with a current address in the region or
  • two forms of identification with at least one showing a current address in the region

Membership is available to persons under 16 years of age who have a parent/guardian who is a permanent resident of the Fraser Coast region.

The following conditions apply:

  • parent/guardian must sign as guarantor
  • parent/guardian must present a Medicare card, showing their name and the child's name
  • grandparents cannot register their grandchildren unless they are legal guardians
  • You must respect the rights and security of staff and other library users.
  • If you are under 16 you are required to come to the library with your parent/guardian in order to collect your membership card. Your parent/guardian must accept responsibility for your library membership including items accessed or borrowed.
  • Your library card is required to borrow physical items from the library. Download the Fraser Coast Libraries app for a digital version of your library card.
  • You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card. Items that are lost, damaged, or long overdue are subject to replacement charges which  are not refundable.
  • Items must be returned on or before the due date, unless renewed.
  • Replacement charges will automatically apply for items long overdue.
  • Your membership may be debarred if you have outstanding charges or overdue items.
  • You must report lost or stolen library cards to Fraser Coast Libraries and notify of any changes to contact details.

Visitors to the Fraser Coast region are able to register as borrowers with the following conditions:

  • provision of home residential address

Housebound membership is available to those who have a short-term or long-term disability/illness that seriously impairs the person's physical access to branches of Fraser Coast Regional Libraries. Housebound Services are offered in conjunction with Friends of the Library.
