Asphalt resurfacing 600

A $1.5million asphalt resurfacing program is underway.

“The program covers a number of Maryborough and Hervey Bay streets,” Councillor Denis Chapman said.

“The asphalt resurfacing works are determined by annual inspections carried out as part of Council’s ongoing asset inspection program.

“In the current budget Council has allocated $5.5M to the resurfacing program to ensure that streets last as long as possible before they have to be replaced.”

The works include repairs and reprofiling sections of roads as well as resealing.

The current resurfacing program includes:

  • Long Street, Point Vernon (Corfield Street to Banksia Street);
  • Pallas Street, Maryborough (Kent Street to Ellena Street);
  • Agnes Court and Donald Court, Maryborough (Cul-de-sac heads only), and;
  • Eatonvale Road, Maryborough (Gympie Road to culvert 700 metres west of Gympie Road).

The project was awarded to Boral.

“Residents will be notified before the works start so they can plan ahead and move cars off streets or out of driveways into nearby streets for ready access while the resurfacing is underway.”
