If you’re battling to find that perfect gift for that someone special, then have a think about buying a Fraser Coast Gift Card.

“You can purchase a gift card from 18 business across the region or go online to frasercoastgiftcard.com,” Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said.

The gift card, a cornerstone of the Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Open for Business Buy Local campaign, is accepted by 200 businesses across the region.

“They can be used in everything from pubs and clubs, to golf shops and newsagents.

“Buying local is the best way to support Fraser Coast businesses; it’s great for local jobs and great for our local communities.”

Businesses from Tiaro, Maryborough and Hervey Bay are involved in the program and the program is backed by the Tiaro, Maryborough and Hervey Bay Chambers of Commerce.

“There’s still time for more local businesses to be involved,” Cr Seymour said.

The ‘Open for Business Buy Local’ campaign was developed following feedback from local businesses and was part of the Council ’s efforts to stimulate the Fraser Coast economy following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Businesses interested in joining the program can sign up through the Council webpage via www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au/open-business-buy-local-fraser-coast  or email economic.development@frasercoast.qld.gov.au.

“The gift cards are great for any celebration and make a great birthday or Christmas gift, including for Secret Santa. The Maryborough Golf Club is giving away gift cards valued at $1,000 for prizes in its annual Sunset Shoutout this year.”
