Sandbag Filling locations, Council facilities in Maryborough
Sandbag filling points are located at:-
Maryborough SES Depot - 16 Reed Ave, Maryborough
Maryborough Bunnings - 107 Ferry Street, Maryborough
The Brolga Theatre and Convention Centre has been opened as a place of refuge for anyone unable to return to their homes.
If attending the evacuation centre if possible please bring your sleeping bag/blanket/pillow.
Anyone in a caravan should head to the Maryborough Showgrounds & Equestrian Park where amenities are available.
At 3pm the intersection of Adelaide Street and Kent Street was closed so the flood barrier can continue to the Town Hall Building.
Everyone should avoid the Maryborough CBD area to minimise traffic congestion while the barrier is put in place.
Please do not venture out unless absolutely necessary – do not drive through flooded waters.
COUNCIL FACILITIES
Due to the current flood situation a number of Council facilities have been or will be impacted.
- At this stage the Tiaro and Maryborough libraries have been closed until further notice.
- The Maryborough Aquatic Centre has been closed until further notice.
- The Maryborough Landfill Site will remain open until the close of business today (Saturday 8/1/22) but then close until at least Tuesday.
- The Granville Waste Transfer site is now closed until at least Tuesday.
- Council is not expecting any impact to the water and waste services to the region including curb side bin pick up.
- The Bond Store, Story Bank and Gatakers Artspace is also closed until further notice.
