Showcase your gardens in Maryborough Open Gardens

Calling all green thumbs – the organisers of the Maryborough Open Gardens 2022 are looking for keen gardeners to showcase their creations.

The Maryborough Open Gardens 2022 will be on Saturday August 27 and Sunday 28 August, with Town Gardens open on the Saturday and Country Gardens open on the Sunday.

Maryborough Horticultural Society president Joy Duke said the free event enabled visitors to have a peek into the private gardens of Maryborough and surrounds to enjoy, gain inspiration, learn about what grows in the region and simply share the love of gardening.

“We are looking for a wide range of garden sizes and styles from the formal to quirky and artistic as well as those on small and large acreage,” she said.

“Entry to the gardens is free with some gardens having fund raising events including plant sales and refreshments.”

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said the variety of gardens on display each year was inspiring.

“Gardening and getting outdoors has so many benefits. The simple pleasure of being immersed in nature is very soothing and invigorating,” he said.

“We thank the gardeners, including Council staff, who maintain the region’s gardens, and thank those residents who are willing to open their gates to give us a peek inside.”
