Don’t let the cold weather keep you at home this school holidays with a packed two weeks of activities available on the Fraser Coast.

The ‘Our Fraser Coast’ website is a one stop shop for families to find school holiday activities at Council venues for children of all ages.

Craft workshops, interactive storytelling, meet the author events and free movies are just a few of the dozens of activities on offer between 25 June and 10 July 2022 at Council libraries, art galleries and cultural facilities.

The biggest event on the school holiday calendar will be the Mary Poppins Festival in Maryborough on Sunday 3 July – a day full of supercalifragilistic activities, events and performances.

Other highlights include:

  • Queensland Youth Philharmonic Orchestra free concert, Monday 27 June, 1pm, Brolga Theatre;
  • Mary Poppins Miniature Garden Workshop, 30 June and 1 July, The Story Bank;
  • ‘The Last Collection’ – an immersive theatre experience where participants will join two explorers to help rescue the last books on earth, 2 July – 10 July, The Story Bank;
  • Mary Poppins Artisan Markets, 3 July, Gatakers Artspace;
  • Stand tall and strong fashion parade (as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations), 8 July, Gatakers Artspace;
  • Deano Yipadee – Stories, Songs and Fun, 6 – 8 July, various Fraser Coast libraries; and
  • Manga drawing workshops – with local illustrator Talia Horsburgh (for 12 years and up); 4 July at the Maryborough Library, 5 July at the Hervey Bay Library.
