Fraser Coast community and sporting groups are encouraged to apply to lease Council-owned vacant land at Maryborough Airport.
Leases of up to 10 years are available at a peppercorn rate of $1 per year.
Up to 4,300 square metres of vacant land is available, and Council envisages that multiple groups may share the land with any new facilities built to maximise the area's use.
This lease opportunity allows organisations to create spaces tailored to their unique requirements.
While the land is surrounded by water, sewerage and electricity infrastructure, these services are not directly on the site. Successful applicants will need to consider these connections if required, though it is not mandatory.
Depending on their needs, groups may choose to build in preparation for connections or operate without them. Building works must also be completed within three years of the start of the lease.
Applications are open from Monday 22 July 2024 until Monday 30 September 2024.
