We’re thrilled to partner with PCYC Hervey Bay, Queensland Police Service, and Hashtag All Abilities to host #COMMUNITYGROOVE – All Abilities Disco!
This exciting joint initiative is set to bring the community together in a safe, inclusive and accessible environment that fosters social connections and celebrates diversity on the dance floor!
When: Saturday, 1st February 2025
Where: Hervey Bay PCYC
Time: Ages 6-12 years: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Ages 13+: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Cost: Gold coin donation.
Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase from the PCYC canteen.
FAQs
Do attendees need to pre-register to attend? No, pre-registration is not required. Attendees can simply arrive at their age-appropriate session time, but parents/guardians must register their contact details at drop-off.
Is this event only for children and teens with disability? No, the All Abilities Disco is an inclusive event open to everyone. It’s designed to be a safe, fun, and supportive space for people of all abilities to enjoy music and dancing.
Can my child bring their support worker or carer to the event? Yes
Can parents or guardians stay during the disco? While parents and guardians are welcome to stay if they wish, it is not required. For safety, once the disco starts, there will be no exits until the end of the session. Parents and guardians must register their contact details at drop-off and pick their children up at the end of the session.
Will there be supervision during the disco? Yes, there will be supervisors and event staff present throughout the evening to ensure the event is safe, fun, and inclusive for everyone.
Is the venue accessible for wheelchairs or mobility aids?
Yes, the Hervey Bay PCYC is an accessible venue, ensuring everyone can attend and enjoy the event comfortably.
Is the venue equipped with accessible bathrooms and change facilities? Yes
Will there be quiet or sensory-friendly spaces available if my child becomes overwhelmed? Yes
