BoM Latest Flood warning

Major flooding is now occurring in Maryborough with the river already above 9m and a peak of 10.5m expected by 6pm tonight (Sunday, January 9).

The Bureau of Meteorology expect the river to remain at 10.5m until about 2am on Monday morning before slowly dropping during Monday.

Residents can check to see if their property is affected by logging on to the flood mapping information on the Council’s Disaster Dashboard http://disaster.frasercoast.qld.gov.au

Maryborough CBD now being evacuated. 

Impacted residents are urged to move property and possessions to higher ground and prepare to self-evacuate if necessary.

Those who are self-evacuating are urged to shelter with friends and family where possible.
For those who can’t, an evacuation centre has been set up at the Brolga Theatre in Maryborough. Please bring your own medical supplies, toiletries and blankets to the Brolga if you can.
