Bitumen Resealing Across Fraser Coast

What’s happening

Roads in multiple areas will be resealed. This involves adding a new layer of bitumen and stone aggregate to protect and improve road surfaces.

Why

Bitumen resealing extends the life of roads by 8–14 years and protects them from weather damage.

Hervey Bay, Sunshine Acres, Nikenbah, Toogoom, Craignish, Dundowran, Burrum Heads, Torbanlea, Howard, Maryborough, Bidwill, Maaroom, Boonooroo, Beaver Rock, Walkers Point, Granville, Tinana, Yerra, Oakhurst, Tiaro, Bauple, Gundiah and Talegalla Weir.

When

Work will start in early January 2025, with completion expected by April 2025, weather permitting.

Who’s doing the work

The project has been awarded to RPQ, and pre-seal work was completed by Council’s Operations team.

How much will it cost

$3.13M

Community impact

Residents and businesses will be informed ahead of works, and traffic and pedestrian management measures will be in place to minimise disruptions.
