Brendan Hansen Park Pedestrian Pathways Replacement

What’s happening
The bitumen pedestrian pathways in Brendan Hansen Park, Granville, are being replaced with concrete to improve accessibility and ease of use. About 286 metres of pathway will be upgraded to a new 1.8-metre-wide concrete path.

Why
The upgrade is needed because the current bitumen pathways are aging, and concrete provides a more durable and accessible option. This is part of a staged approach to improve the park's pathway network.

When
Work will start the week of 20 January 2025 and is expected to finish by 7 March 2025, depending on the weather.

Who’s doing the work
Council’s internal Landscape Construction Team will complete the project.

How much will it cost
The project is expected to cost $52,000. A portion of the funding comes from the State Government’s Works for Queensland program.

Community impact
The new concrete paths will improve safety, durability, and accessibility, making the park easier and more enjoyable for everyone to use.
