A section of the pedestrian pathway in Queens Park, Maryborough, is being replaced. The old bitumen path will be removed and replaced with a new 1.5-metre-wide concrete path.
The pathways in Queens Park are being upgraded over time as funding allows. The worst sections are being fixed first to improve safety and accessibility.
Work will start on 3 March 2025 and is expected to be completed by 22 March 2025, depending on the weather.
Tony Putman Concreting has been hired to complete the project.
The work will cost $29,384.
The new path will make it easier and safer for people to walk through the park. Since Queens Park is a State Heritage-listed site, special care will be taken to protect important trees and other features during construction. Local event organisers have been consulted to minimise disruption.
