Lifeguards

Fraser Coast residents interested in working as lifeguards, swimming teachers or fitness instructors at Council’s aquatic facilities are being encouraged to come along to a ‘Try Then Apply Day’ at WetSide Water Park between 10am to 1pm on Monday 24 October.

Potential employees will be able to talk to current staff about what they do, tour WetSide, and do an instant interview.

Fraser Coast Regional Council Director Development and Community Gerard Carlyon said Council had recruited new lifeguards, but more staff were needed at WetSide Water Park, and the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Aquatic Centres.

“Council has a range of roles available including lifeguards, swimming teachers and fitness instructors,” he said

“We are looking for fit and motivated people who are available for an immediate start. If you have good people skills and a passion for fun but safe waterplay, then come on down to the ‘Try Then Apply Day’ later this month or apply online now.

“With Council offering training support, this is a great opportunity to get new qualifications and work in a flexible and fun outdoor environment.

“This could be perfect for someone wanting to balance casual work with their uni studies, looking for flexible arrangements during school hours or who is semi-retired, to name just a few examples.”
