Tinnanbar Road upgrade

Fraser Coast residents and visitors travelling to Tinnanbar now have a smoother journey with work to seal 1.4km of Tinnanbar Road, the main access to the seaside village fronting the Sandy Strait, recently completed.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council awarded the contract for the $1.13 million project to local company JAC Civil.

The work included improving about 1.4km of the road, starting at the Cooloola Coast Road intersection, to Rural Collector standard with an 8m wide bitumen seal.

“Council has a huge focus on improving our road network,” Cr Daniel Sanderson said.

“In the budget this year about a third of the capital works budget - almost $50 million – was allocated on roads, bridges and drainage.”

The project is the first of four stages to seal the road into Tinnanbar, Cr Daniel Sanderson said.

Funding to complete further stages will be considered as part of future budget deliberations, he said.
