Buy Local Gift Card

Give the gift of choice and support local businesses this Christmas by buying a Fraser Coast Gift Card.

That’s the call from Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour, who said the gift card was the cornerstone of Council’s Buy Local initiative and was accepted by more than 200 businesses across the region.

“The gift cards can be used in so many different ways and in so many different businesses, such as retail outlets, hair and beauty services, restaurants and cafes and automotive services, to name just a few,” he said.

“It doesn’t matter who you are buying for, whether it’s a picky Aunt or Uncle, the grandkids or even for a Secret Santa present, there is something for everyone with the Fraser Coast Gift Card.”

Cr Seymour said the Buy Local campaign was first introduced in December 2020 in response to the impacts of COVID-19 and continued to go from strength to strength three years on.

“Buying local is the best way to support Fraser Coast businesses. It’s great for jobs and great for our local communities,” he said.

“Every $100 spent locally provides at least a $180 benefit to the local economy through the multiplier effect, which is why we’re urging everyone to get behind this campaign.

“The Fraser Coast Gift Card is a great gift for those who are hard to buy for, and it’s the gift that keeps giving.”

The cards can be purchased online or at “load-up stores” in Hervey Bay and Maryborough.
