The SplashSide water playground at Anzac Park in Maryborough will close from Monday 22 July until Thursday August 22 for annual maintenance works.

Fraser Coast Regional Councillor Daniel Sanderson said Council was taking the opportunity to do these works during winter to minimise disruption to this much-loved water park.

“SplashSide has proven popular since it opened in June 2021 as it includes a range of interactive water features, all-inclusive play equipment, as well as shelters, barbeques and toilets for families to enjoy,” he said.

The annual maintenance will include:

  • Servicing of all mechanical assets such as pumps, filtration systems and valves
  • Emptying and cleaning of balance tanks
  • Servicing of all electrical assets such as distribution boards, Ultra Violet system, sensors, flow switches and control panels for water quality and chemical dosing
  • Clean and maintenance of water features such as the cane poles, roller slide, water fountains

Cr Sanderson said several other activities within the park will also take place during this maintenance period which include:

  • Pressure cleaning of play area and pathways
  • Pressure cleaning of shelters, tables and other infrastructure
  • Painting of timber seating
  • Mulching of gardens
  • General playgrounds maintenance

SplashSide will reopen to the community on Thursday, August 22.

“It’s been wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of families enjoying SplashSide, and I look forward to the facility reopening in time for the warmer weather,” said Cr Sanderson.
