Glenwood Playground Community Engagement

Residents are invited to share their feedback on the proposed playground designs for the Glenwood community.

Fraser Coast Regional Councillor Phil Truscott said the Glenwood Community Space Master Plan was endorsed by Council in early 2024 and sets a vision and direction for the future of the Glenwood community.

“Around 2,000 people currently live in Glenwood with the area expected to grow significantly in coming years, so it’s important to plan for the future,” he said.

“Part of the master plan includes designing and building the Glenwood Playground on land bordering Pepper Road and Varley Road near the Glenwood Community Centre.

“This project is budgeted for the 2024/2025 financial year and will be a valuable addition for Glenwood children and their families, further enriching the beloved Glenwood Community Space.

“Council conducted an extensive engagement process for the ‘Glenwood Community Space’ and has now prepared three draft playground designs for community feedback.

“Design 1 has two play areas which includes separate areas for under 6 years and 7 – 12 years.

“Design 2 has one play area with a multipurpose half court and a large play tower.

“Design 3 also has one play area and includes a zipline and large play tower.”

Cr Truscott said local residents now have the opportunity to provide feedback on the designs and choose the best play elements for the playground by selecting their preferred design and features.

“Your input will help shape a playground that truly meets the needs and vision of the Glenwood community,” he said.
