Fetch Some Fun at Maryborough’s A Dog’s Day Out!
Get ready for a tail-wagging good time at A Dog’s Day Out next month in Maryborough featuring exciting competitions, fantastic prizes, free giveaways, and more!
Fraser Coast Regional Councillor Michelle Byrne said the much-loved Dog’s Day Out is returning to Brendan Hansen Park in Maryborough on Sunday, April 13, from 8am to midday, bringing back all the fan-favourite competitions from last year.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy time with their pets while also promoting responsible pet ownership,” she said.
“Winners of the Best-Dressed Dog, Best Dog Trick and the Owner Look-alike competition will each win a $100 Fraser Coast Buy Local Gift Card.
“The fun day will also feature market stalls and pet products complete with dog treats, toys and all the goodies your pooch could want.”
Cr Daniel Sanderson said the event will also provide free microchipping and first-time dog registration, making it easier than ever for pet owners to keep their furry friends safe.
“In the Fraser Coast, it is compulsory for dogs to be registered with Council from 12 weeks of age and within 14 days of owners moving to the region,” he said.
“To coincide with this event, Council is expanding the desexing rebate, offering all residents a $100 rebate for desexing their dog or cat throughout April.
“The reimbursement is normally only available to Queensland concession card holders, but for the month of April we’re making it available to everyone as part of our commitment to responsible pet ownership.
“Desexing has many benefits, including reducing unwanted litters, roaming, and aggressive behaviour, as well as lowering the risk of health issues.
“The Dogs Day Out event is a fantastic opportunity for pet owners to learn more about responsible dog ownership, access free microchipping, and register their dog for free while having a paw-some day out with their furry friends.”
Local businesses providing pet products or experiences can be part of the event by submitting an Expression of Interest form on Fraser Coast Regional Council’s website: www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au/dogs-day-out
