Located in the Polson Cemetery this memorial is a tribute to all Kanakas brought to Queensland to work on cane and cotton plantations.
Between 1863 and 1906, an estimated 50,000 Islanders were brought to Queensland. About 12,000 of these were brought to the Maryborough/Hervey Bay area.
