Sports and recreation capital assistance grant 600

Upgrades to tennis courts and an extension to a rowing club shed are among eight projects supported by more than $230,000 in Fraser Coast Regional Council Sport and Recreation Capital Assistance Grants.

Cr Daniel Sanderson said the Council grants aimed to build the long-term sustainability of community sport and recreation groups across the Fraser Coast.

“These groups allow residents to participate in physical activity to improve their health and wellbeing,” he said.

“Events organised by these groups also help attract visitors which has a huge economic impact on the regional economy.

“Council is pleased to be able to do our bit to help ensure these important projects go ahead.”
