High tides flush more storm debris onto beaches

Back

The high tides in the past few weeks have flushed more debris out of the Mary River and Burrum River catchments which it is likely to make its way onto Fraser Coast beaches.

Council urges people to remain cautious in and around our beaches as flood debris may contain contaminants.

Large logs and other debris are also washing onto Fraser Coast beaches and these can pose a risk to the safety of swimmers and other water users.

Beach clean-up activities are continuing and moving around the affected Fraser Coast beaches as tides allow.
