Flood relief payments now available

The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment is $1,000 for eligible adults and $400 for children. You can check your eligibility for the payment here: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/south-east-queensland-floods-february-2022-australian-government-disaster-recovery-payment Applications can be made via MyGov or Centrelink accounts. People without internet access can apply via a hotline 1802266.

Personal Hardship Assistance, up to $180 per person to a maximum of $900 for a family of five or more, is also available. Grant applications can be made online through the Community Recovery portal at https://www.qld.gov.au/community/disasters-emergencies/disasters/money-finance/eligibility-apply/seq-flooding-february-2022

Residents without internet access can ring the Community Recovery Hotline on 1800 173 349 to get information or apply for grants and access to support services.

Financial assistance is available to individuals and families to contribute towards safety inspections of and repairs to residential essential services (i.e. electricity, gas, water and sewerage) damaged by an eligible disaster.
